Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my BlogI don’t know how you got here, but unless it was by mistake then you have some interest in addiction to alcohol and drugs. This site is dedicated to helping those who really want a solution to their problem. So if you have a problem with drugs or alcohol (or have a family member who does) then you are in the right place. There is a lot of confusion and misinformation out there and I hope I can help you sort through it and perhaps save you some heartache. Who am I? I am just a person who was addicted to alcohol and drugs for 14 years. I got clean and sober in 1976 which is 30 years ago. I had one slip in 1982 when I got drunk during the breakup of my marriage. That was 23 years ago.I have been in various “treatment programs”. I was twice committed to the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco where the State of California sends drug addicts. I was twice in the Long Term Family program at Tarzana California ( a Synanon Clone Program). When I was in Tarzana they told me I was so sick they didn’t know if they could help me or not. I am also a long time participant in both Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.I have outlived some of the substance abuse counselors who counseled me and who died of drug overdoses themselves. The sad truth is that we live in the dark ages of alcohol/addiction treatment.Contrary to what most Americans believe, addiction to alcohol or drugs is not a disease.I hope you will read this site with an open mind. If you do and follow some of the tips and the links provided, then it may be that your life will be forever changed for the better. And that is my prayer and purpose.God BlessTed W.PS: If you have tried to subscribe to my site via bloget, it has come to my attention that it isnt working. Im trying to resolve the issue with them. In the meantime, you can subscribe via bloglines and there is a link to them down at the very bottom of this page on the right. Or you can just visit frequently which is what some people do.

If you are seeking help, let me stress the following. There is some insight here but you should follow the top 2 or 3 links I have provided to recieve help. Or e-mail me and I will make some specific recommendations for you. There is no charge.
